Course Descriptions - Level 1
INTENSIVE MAT-PLUS REPERTOIRE (IMP) Provides you with the solid foundations and skills you need to develop
effective and motivating group and personal training programs. At the
end of the course you are qualified to design and teach essential and
intermediate level matwork classes, integrating small equipment to add
variety and to meet the specific needs of your clients. In addition to the general course objectives you learn:
Workout composition for personal and group training
Essential, intermediate and power workouts
Use of the Flex-Band & Fitness Circle and Arc Barrel to enhance,
support and intensify strength and flexibility exercises
Prerequisite: working knowledge of functional anatomy, some pilates training and three-plus years teaching movement or fitness
Course Duration:40 hours instruction and supervised teaching
* Conducted over 2 weeks or three weekends
INTENSIVE REFORMER REPERTOIRE (IR) Prepare you to teach a broad range of exercises, variations, and
modifications performed on the Reformer. This course teaches you how to
combine Mat - and Reformer - based workouts for increased variety and
intensity. Upon completion of this course you are able to further
motivate group classes and customize personal training sessions for a range of clients. In addition to the general course objectives, you learn:
Effective use of resistance to enhance torso stability and
peripheral extremity conditioning
How to develop effective Reformer and combined Mat-and-Reformer
programs for personal and group classes
Essential, intermediate and power workouts
Course Duration: 50 hours instruction and supervised teaching Prerequisite: IMP

INTENSIVE CADILLAC, CHAIR & BARRELS (ICCB) Prepares you to teach essential and intermediate level stretch and
strength exercises on equipment designed to complement and complete STOTT training. By the end of this course you are able to fine-tune both personal and circuit training programs to meet a variety of your clients' conditioning goals - from post rehabilitation to athletic performance enhancement . You also learn:
How to apply STOTT bio-mechanical principles for precision training
Use of resistance to enhance torso stability and peripheral extremity training
How to develop dynamic programs for one-on-one and circuit training
Prerequisite:IMP and IR Course Duration:50 hours instruction and supervised teaching

INJURY & SPECIAL POPULATIONS [ISP] Equips you with the skills and in-depth knowledge required to address a broad range of physical challenges among your clients. Successful completion of this and all Advanced courses is required for Full STOTT PILATES Certification. At the completion of this lecture-demonstration course, you will be able to customize your clients’ workouts to address particular weaknesses, conditions, postural problems or injuries.Course objectives:
How to address a variety of injuries, weaknesses and conditions including lower back pain, spinal conditions, hip and knee replacements
Treating shoulder problems, neck and shoulder tension, fibromyalgia, arthritis, pregnancy
Application of appropriate STOTT PILATES biomechanical principles
Workout design for personal training programs and specialty classes
Appropriate modification of matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels exercises
Effective communication, visual skills, verbal cuing and imagery for client motivation
Prerequisite: IMP Course duration: 24 hours of instruction, conducted over four to six days

Graduate Courses - Level 2
If you have successfully completed STOTT PILATES Intensive or Comprehensive courses and want to expand your repertoire of skills to challenge the fittest of clients, you are encouraged to work towards Level Two STOTT PILATES Certification by completing the relevant Advanced Repertoire courses.

Breakdown of 35 advanced level Reformer exercises, in addition to the general course objectives.
Prerequisite: IR Course duration: 18 hours instruction conducted over three days
